Born in South Korea, Kim Sin Tae, General Manager at 14 Hills, has played a vital role at D&D London as the New Opening’s Manager, having opened 20 Stories in Manchester before more recently moving back to London to lead on the opening of 14 Hills.
Kim’s wicked sense of humour and professionalism are the first things you’ll notice when you walk through the doors of 14 Hills. With a background from The Savoy, Gordon Ramsay and Harvey Nichols, he definitely doesn’t disappoint. Joining D&D London back in 2006 to open Skylon, Kim has also worked at Plateau, Le Pont de la Tour, Aster and opened D&D London’s first restaurant in Manchester, 20 Stories.
In delivering a unique service, Kim sees the opportunity to implement new training strategies and never fails to teach and nurture staff to become the best in their field. This led the 20 Stories team to be awarded the Best Front of House Team of the Year award in the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards 2018.
Now the face that represents 14 Hills in London, Kim develops standout relationships with all of his guests and holds achievements under his belt including having managed his previous 20 Stories team to become one of the best restaurants in Manchester.
Naturally, Kim thrives off the buzz of a busy restaurant, but in his spare time he likes to see his children and keeps on top of current restaurant and bar trends by visiting other venues in the city.
